Supporting Our Armed Forces Community

At Wallop Primary School, we are immensely proud of our deep-rooted connection to the military. With almost two-thirds of our pupils coming from service families, this connection is a valued part of our inclusive school community.

We know that military life doesn’t always follow the school calendar. Whether your child joins us in September or mid-year, we pride ourselves on a seamless transition.

  • From day one, we focus on making every child feel valued and seen.

  • Every Minute Matters - We move quickly to understand each child's academic journey, identifying any learning gaps and ensuring the right support is in place immediately.

  • Our inclusive culture ensures new starters find friends and find their feet fast.

We understand that deployment, exercise, and relocation can be an emotional rollercoaster. To support our pupils’ well-being, we offer:

  • We have a dedicated ELSA in school to provide both focused, long-term interventions and "one-off" support when a child just needs a safe space to talk.

  • We work hand-in-hand with the Community Development Worker (CDW) from Middle Wallop, who visits school every week to work specifically with our service children.

  • We maintain a strong, active partnership with Army Welfare to ensure we are aligned in supporting your family’s needs.

  • As a small school, all our staff know all the children incredibly well.

Our Pledge: The Armed Forces Covenant

Wallop Primary is an Armed Forces Covenant School. This is our formal pledge to the nation that we will ensure no child faces a disadvantage because of their parent’s service.

The Service Premium we receive is dedicated to this pastoral mission. While the standard Pupil Premium focuses on academic attainment, the SPP is used to fund the staff and programs like our ELSA and transition support, that mitigate the unique challenges of military life.
